Joint Resolutions

A joint resolution is a resolution that is used to propose an amendment to the Michigan Constitution, to ratify an amendment to the Constitution of the United States, or to handle certain matters where power is solely vested in the Legislatures of the States by the United States Constitution. Join resolutions used to propose amendments to the Michigan Constitution require a two-thirds majority in each house to pass. Joint resolutions are not considered by the Governor.
