CONTENT

The bill would amend the Single State Construction Code Act to exempt, notwithstanding any other provision of the Act or the State Construction Code, K-12 schools from any heating requirements provided in the Act or Code for an interior space that was constructed for use as a viewing area at an outdoor sporting activity or event, including a press box, and a building or structure that was incidental to an outdoor sporting activity or event, including a ticket booth or concession stand.

The bill specifies that an accessible route would not be required for press boxes in bleachers or freestanding press boxes if the aggregate area of all press boxes for each playing field were not more than 500 square feet. "Aggregate area" would not include the square footage of any connecting facilities or structures beyond the floor plan of a press box, including a hallway, ramp, staircase, elevator, or lift.
