CONTENT

 

The bill would amend the Single State Construction Code Act to exempt an interior space intended for human occupancy that was constructed for use as a viewing area at an outdoor sporting activity from the heating requirements contained in the International Mechanical Code published by the International Code Council.

BACKGROUND

 

According to its website, the International Code Council "is dedicated to developing model codes and standards used in the design, build and compliance process to construct safe, sustainable, affordable and resilient structures". The Council has 15 international codes, including the International Mechanical Code, which establishes minimum requirements for mechanical systems.
