The bill would amend the Single State Construction Code Act to do the following:

--   Exempt K-12 schools from any heating requirements provided in the Act or State Construction Code for an interior space that was constructed for use as a viewing area at an outdoor sporting activity or event and a building or structure that was incidental to an outdoor sporting activity or event.

--   Specify that an accessible route would not be required for press boxes in bleachers or freestanding press boxes if the aggregate area of all press boxes for each playing field were not more than 500 square feet.

Specifically, notwithstanding any other provision of the Act or the Code, the following would be exempt for K-12 schools from any heating requirements provided by the Act or Code:

--    An interior space intended for human occupancy that was constructed for use as a viewing area at an outdoor sporting activity or event, including a press box.

--    A building or structure that was incidental to an outdoor sporting activity or event, including a ticket booth or concession stand.

An accessible route would not be required for press boxes in bleachers or freestanding press boxes if the aggregate area of all press boxes for each playing field were not more than 500 square feet. "Aggregate area" would not include the square footage of any connecting facilities or structures beyond the floor plan of a press box, including a hallway, ramp, staircase, elevator, or lift.
