SUMMARY OF BILL
REPORTED FROM COMMITTEE
The bill would amend the Michigan Unemployment Security Act to specify that, for all claims filed after March 1, 2020, and established under the Federal pandemic unemployment assistance program, an individual would have to be able and available to perform suitable full- or part-time work with respect to the able and available requirements prescribed by the Act.
The bill would have no fiscal impact on State or local government. The bill would maintain the status for UIA claimants who became eligible for benefits from Federal expansions.
