The bill would amend Public Act 246 of 1965, which provides for the establishment of a civil service system in certain townships and the creation of a civil service commission in those townships, to require a commission to hold a regular meeting at least quarterly. The commission would have to hold a special meeting at the request of a commissioner. Currently, a commission must hold a regular meeting at least monthly.

The bill would have no impact on State government. The bill would potentially save administrative costs for local units.
