STATE CIVIL INFRACTIONS H.B. 4427: FLOOR ANALYSIS
House Bill 4427 (as reported by the Committee of the Whole) Sponsor: Representative Michael E. Nye
House Committee: Judiciary and Civil Rights Senate Committee: Judiciary
The bill would amend the Michigan Vehicle Code to provide for the driver's license sanctions proposed by House Bill 4426 for failure to appear in response to a citation issued for, or failure to comply with an order or judgment involving, a State civil infraction enforceable under the Revised Judicature Act. House Bill 4427 also specifies that the Code's provisions for disposition and use of revenues from license reinstatement fees would not apply to a reinstatement fee collected under House Bill 4426.
House Bill 4427 would take effect on January 1, 1996, and is tie-barred to House Bill 4426, which would amend the Revised Judicature Act to establish procedures under which violations of State law could be adjudicated as State civil infractions.
