A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 6164 AS INTRODUCED 9-22-98


The Michigan Vehicle Code specifies that the registration tax for a van owned by a person who uses a wheelchair or by a person who transports a resident of his or her household who uses a wheelchair is reduced by 50 percent. House Bill 6164 would extend the discount to all vehicles used for this purpose, rather than only to vans.
