CONTENT
The bill would create a new act to require the Attorney General to initiate and litigate a civil action to challenge any "federal mandate" for the State to obtain or disclose an individual's Social Security number for a purpose unrelated to Social Security or Federal taxation.
Under the bill, "federal mandate" would include both a requirement of Federal law, and a condition imposed by Federal law that affected the State's qualification to receive Federal funds.
