        A bill to make an appropriation for the department of state police

   and certain other state purposes for the fiscal year ending September 30,

   1997; and to provide for the expenditure of the appropriation.

                   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1          Sec. 101.  There is appropriated for the department of state police,

 2     to supplement former appropriations for the fiscal year ending

 3     September 30, 1997, from the funds identified as follows:

 4     DEPARTMENT OF STATE POLICE

 5       GROSS APPROPRIATION.................................. $          25,000

 6           Appropriated from:

 7       Local revenues.......................................                 0

 8       State restricted revenues............................                 0

 9       State general fund/general purpose................... $          25,000

 1     GENERAL SECTIONS

 2          Sec. 201.  Pursuant to section 30 of article IX of the state consti-

 3     tution of 1963, total state spending from state sources for fiscal year

 4     1996-97 is estimated at $25,000.00 in this act from state sources and

 5     state spending paid to local units of government for fiscal year 1996-97

 6     is estimated at $0.00.





 7     DEPARTMENT OF STATE POLICE

 8          Sec. 301.  The funds appropriated to the department of state police

 9     shall be used to purchase hands-free radio operation helmets, to be used

10     in conjunction with the Wayne County sheriff's department and the Detroit

11     police department.
