        A bill to amend 1877 PA 164, entitled

   "An act to authorize cities, incorporated villages, and townships
   to establish and maintain, or contract for the use of, free
   public libraries and reading rooms,"

   (MCL 397.201 to 397.217) by amending the title, as amended by

   1984 PA 128, and by adding section 11a.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1                                  TITLE

 2         An act to authorize cities, incorporated villages, and town-

 3    ships to establish and maintain, or contract for the use of, free

 4    public libraries and reading rooms; AND TO PRESCRIBE PENALTIES

 5    AND PROVIDE REMEDIES.

 6         SEC. 11A.  A PETITION UNDER SECTION 10, 10A, OR 11, INCLUD-

 7    ING THE CIRCULATION AND SIGNING OF THE PETITION, IS SUBJECT TO

 8    SECTION 488 OF THE MICHIGAN ELECTION LAW, 1954 PA 116, MCL

 9    168.488.  A PERSON WHO VIOLATES A PROVISION OF THE MICHIGAN

 5         Enacting section 1.  This amendatory act does not take

 6    effect unless Senate Bill No. _____ or House Bill No. _____
