        A bill to amend 1927 PA 165, entitled

   "An act to authorize the consolidation of township libraries in
   adjoining townships in certain cases, and to provide for their
   joint maintenance,"

   (MCL 397.351 to 397.358) by amending the title and by adding sec-

   tion 2a.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1                                  TITLE

 2         An act to authorize the consolidation of township libraries

 3    in adjoining townships in certain cases;  , and  to provide for

 4    their joint maintenance; AND TO PRESCRIBE PENALTIES AND PROVIDE

 5    REMEDIES.

 6         SEC. 2A.  A PETITION UNDER SECTION 2, INCLUDING THE CIRCULA-

 7    TION AND SIGNING OF THE PETITION, IS SUBJECT TO SECTION 488 OF

 8    THE MICHIGAN ELECTION LAW, 1954 PA 116, MCL 168.488.  A PERSON

 9    WHO VIOLATES A PROVISION OF THE MICHIGAN ELECTION LAW, 1954 PA

 2    THIS SECTION IS SUBJECT TO THE PENALTIES PRESCRIBED FOR THAT VIO-

 5         Enacting section 1.  This amendatory act does not take

 6    effect unless Senate Bill No. _____ or House Bill No. _____
