        A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled

   "Michigan election law,"

   by amending section 509u (MCL 168.509u), as added by 1994 PA

   441.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1         Sec. 509u.  (1) Not later than  the thirtieth day after the

 2     effective date of this section  FEBRUARY 9, 1995, the governor

 3    shall provide a list to the secretary of state designating the

 4    executive departments, state agencies, or other offices that will

 5    perform voter registration activities in this state.

 6         (2) Pursuant to the national voter registration act of 1993,

 7    a recruitment office of the armed forces of the United States is

 8    a designated voter registration agency under this act.

 9         (3) IN ADDITION TO DESIGNATED VOTER REGISTRATION AGENCIES

10    DESIGNATED UNDER SUBSECTIONS (1) AND (2), EACH LOCATION WHERE THE

 1    SALE OF HUNTING AND FISHING LICENSES IS AUTHORIZED UNDER PART 435

 2    OF THE NATURAL RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ACT, 1994

 3    PA 451, MCL 324.43501 TO 324.43561, SHALL BE A DESIGNATED VOTER

 4    REGISTRATION AGENCY UNDER THIS ACT.
