A bill to amend 1976 PA 228, entitled "The legislative merit award program act," by amending section 4 (MCL 390.1304), as amended by 1980 PA 386. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 4. A person shall be eligible for a scholarship award 2 UNDER THIS ACT if the person meets all of the following 3 qualifications: 4 (a) Has resided in this state continuously for the preceding 5 12 months and is not considered a resident of any other state. 6 (b) Has not graduated from high school at the time of the 7 scholarship examination. 8 (c) Enrolls inaAN ELIGIBLE recognized postsecondary edu- 9 cational institution within 4 years after graduation from high 10 school and is not enrolled in a program of study leading to a 11 degree in theology, divinity, or religious education.
