A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled "Natural resources and environmental protection act," by amending section 301 (MCL 324.301). THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 301. Except as otherwise defined in this act, as used 2 in this act: 3 (a) "Commission" means the commission of natural resources. 4 (b) "Department" means the director of the department of 5 natural resources or his or her designee to whom the director 6 delegates a power or duty by written instrument. 7 (c) "Department of natural resources" means the principal 8 state department created in section 501. 9 (d) "Director" means the director of the department of 10 natural resources. 05981'98 JCB 2 1 (E) "GREAT LAKES" MEANS LAKE SUPERIOR, LAKE MICHIGAN, LAKE 2 HURON, LAKE ERIE, AND LAKE ONTARIO. 3 (F)(e)"Local unit of government" means a municipality or 4 county. 5 (G)(f)"Municipality" means a city, village, or 6 township. 7 (H)(g)"Person" means an individual, partnership, corpo- 8 ration, association, governmental entity, or other legal entity. 9 (I)(h)"Public domain" means all land owned by the state 10 or land deeded to the state under state law. 11 (J)(i)"Rule" means a rule promulgated pursuant to the 12 administrative procedures act of 1969,Act No. 306 of the Public13Acts of 1969, being sections 24.201 to 24.328 of the Michigan14Compiled Laws1969 PA 306, MCL 24.201 TO 24.328. 05981'98 Final page.
