Rev. Garfield Judkins, Pastor, Northside Assembly of God, Macomb Township, offered the following invocation:

"Lord, we acknowledge Your sovereignty and Your grace. We recognize that it is by Your grace and by Your blessing that we have become Your people blessed with abundance. By Your mercy, You give us leadership and good government. You set men into responsible positions, and we thank You for them. We would pray the prayer of King Solomon; that You would give to these leaders a discerning heart to govern these people, and the ability to distinguish between right and wrong as they execute their responsibilities. Help each representative to employ what he knows to good and godly ends. Remembering that each will stand before God and give account for the use of authority entrusted to them. We ask for Your blessing on this session, and thank You for hearing our prayer today. In the name of Him, Who has all authority, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."
