With mixed feeling I am privileged in a way and saddened in another way to present a tribute to Angie Payne, who is leaving my office for a position in the Department of Transportation. Angie has been a very valued employee of mine for eight and one-half years, and she has been my right arm as far as constituent relations are concerned. She is a highly motivated, organized, and a detailed-oriented individual, and she is certainly a professional. When given an assignment, why, you could feel confident that the assignment would get done, done right, and in a timely manner.
A little bit about her accomplishments, I think, and I won't read the whole thing, certainly. As I look over the past eight and one-half years Angie's been with me, I'm astounded at what she's accomplished. In addition to being a very able and competent employee, Angie completed both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree, married Brett Payne, and had two children, Tiffany and Alexis, and she's still a mighty young attractive gal.
She has taken a position with the Department of Transportation. She'll be greatly missed, and my loss is certainly the Department of Transportation's gain.
So, Angie, I wish you well, and hey, if you have to, you're always welcome to come back!
Pursuant to rule 3.203, the Majority Leader made the following committee reassignment:
Senate Bill No. 47

I rise in announcement that one of my staff individuals, Mark Michaelsen, is leaving my staff and moving to Alabama. Many of you have known Mark for a number of years. He worked for the Senate but also worked for Governor Engler's office, and the last two years, he worked in our office. He was Legislative Aide for our staff, and he provided a number of items as leadership for my staff and my office from taxes and economic development. I truly we appreciate his wisdom and his efforts in helping our office. We'll miss Mark.
