A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4372 AS INTRODUCED 3-3-99

House Bill 4372 would amend the State Revenue Sharing Act of 1971 to allow a city, village, township, or county the option of having revenue sharing payments deposited by electronic fund transfer into an account at a financial institution identified by the jurisdiction's treasurer. Under the bill, the option would be available beginning April 1, 2000. Currently the law specifies that payments be made directly to the treasurer, credited to the general fund, and available for the jurisdiction's purposes.
