A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4409 AS INTRODUCED 3-11-99


The bill would add a new section to the Department of Corrections Act (Public Act 118 of 1893) to prohibit prisoners under the jurisdiction of the Department of Corrections from assaulting or battering a departmental employee with blood, feces, urine, saliva, or other bodily fluid or emission. A prisoner who violated this prohibition would be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to 90 days or a fine of up to $100, or both.
