A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4882 AS INTRODUCED 9-28-99
Under federal law, in order to become a competency evaluated nurse aide (CENA), a person must complete 75 hours of training. The bill would amend the Public Health Code to require the Department of Consumer and Industry Services, with advice from the Department of Community Health, to revise the departmental rules that govern the approval of nurse aide training and competency evaluation programs to require a person to complete 45 clock hours of training in addition to the 75 hours required by federal law.
