A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5539 AS INTRODUCED 4-25-00


The bill would amend the Animal Industry Act of 1987 to require that all livestock, including live captive elk and white-tailed deer ("captive cervidae"), capable of contracting bovine tuberculosis have a negative official test for bovine TB within 60 days before being moved from the Lower Peninsula to the Upper Peninsula.
