        A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled

   "Michigan election law,"

   by amending section 472 (MCL 168.472).

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1         Sec.  472.  Petitions to initiate legislation shall be filed

 2    with the secretary of state  not less than 10 days before
             the

 3     beginning of  DURING a session of the legislature
                       BUT NOT LATER

 4    THAN THE EXPIRATION OF 15 DAYS AFTER THE DATE ESTABLISHED IN THIS

 5    ACT FOR A CANDIDATE TO FILE NOMINATING PETITIONS OR A FILING FEE

 6    TO HAVE HIS OR HER NAME PRINTED ON THE AUGUST PRIMARY BALLOT.
