A joint resolution proposing an amendment to the state con- stitution of 1963, by adding section 31 to article V, to provide that the governor meet with the legislature periodically. Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the state of Michigan, That the following amendment to the state con- stitution of 1963, to provide that the governor meet with the legislature periodically, is proposed, agreed to, and submitted to the people of the state: 1 ARTICLE V 2 SEC. 31. NOT LESS THAN ONCE EACH MONTH WHILE THE LEGISLA- 3 TURE IS IN SESSION, THE GOVERNOR SHALL ATTEND A SESSION OF EACH 4 HOUSE OF THE LEGISLATURE. AT EACH SESSION, THE GOVERNOR SHALL 5 RESPOND TO QUESTIONS BY LEGISLATORS ABOUT THE GENERAL STATE OF 6 GOVERNMENT AND EXECUTIVE BRANCH POLICIES. THE GOVERNOR SHALL 7 RESPOND TO AN EQUAL NUMBER OF QUESTIONS PRESENTED BY MEMBERS OF 03988'99 JLB 2 1 THE MAJORITY AND MINORITY PARTIES.
