The roll was called by the Clerk of the House of Representatives, who announced that a quorum was not present.

 

Rep. Lynn Martinez, from the 69th District, offered the following invocation:

 

"We will bow our heads. Dear Spirit, who takes care of us all, we call You by many different names, but all of us believe in Your power and wisdom. We ask that You bless the members of the House today. Make us all wise. Help us to work in the best interest of all the people of Michigan. Amen."

Communications from State Officers

 

 

The following communication from the Office of Drug Control Policy was received and read:

 

February 9, 1999

I am pleased to transmit the Byrne Evaluation Partnership Program application from the Office of Drug Control Policy to the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance for the evaluation of Juvenile Intervention Strategies grant projects.

This application is being forwarded to your office for information and review pursuant to Section 1304 (a) (2) of the Edward Byrne Memorial State and Local Law Enforcement Assistance Formula grant program.
