A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4490 AS INTRODUCED 3-20-01
Under Part 301 of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act (NREPA), concerning inland lakes and streams, an application for a permit must be accompanied by a fee. The fees are based on an administrative cost, and currently range from $50 to $1,500. House Bill 4490 would amend Part 301 to specify that, if a permit applicant was a nonprofit entity, the application fee could not exceed $100.
