A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4524 AS INTRODUCED 3-27-01

Under Part 821 of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act (NREPA), concerning snowmobile trail permits, operating a snowmobile without a permit is a state civil infraction. A person who violates this provision, or who fails to properly attach the trail permit sticker permit to the snowmobile, may be ordered to pay a civil fine of up to $50. House Bill 4524 would increase the maximum fine to $250.
