A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5346 AS INTRODUCED 10-29-01

House Bill 5346 would amend the Support and Parenting Time Enforcement Act to require a court to issue a child support order until a child reaches 26 years of age if the child suffers from a developmental disability, mental retardation, a serious emotional disturbance, or a serious mental illness, as those terms are defined in the Mental Health Code (MCL 333.1100a, 333.1100b, and 333.1100d). The bill would allow a complaint or motion requesting support to be filed at anytime before the child reaches 26 years of age.

MCL 552.605b
