        A bill to amend 1913 PA 379, entitled

   "An act to facilitate the collection of alimony and support and
   maintenance for minor children or for children who are 18 years
   of age or older ordered to be paid in suits for divorce or sepa-
   rate maintenance,"

   by amending sections 2 and 6 (MCL 552.152 and 552.156), section 2

   as amended and section 6 as added by 1999 PA 153.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

             Sec. 2.  (1) When a  decree  JUDGMENT or order described in

 2
        section 1 orders payments to be made to the clerk of the court,

 3
        the  friend of the court  COURT FAMILY SERVICES OFFICE, or the

 4
        state disbursement unit and a payment is in default, the party

 5
        prejudiced may make a motion before the court showing by records

 6
        in the clerk's OFFICE or  friend of the court's  COURT FAMILY

 7
        SERVICES office, or otherwise, that the default has occurred, and

 8
        the court may issue an attachment to arrest the party in default

        and bring the party immediately before the court to answer for

 2
        the default.

             (2) As used in this act, "state disbursement unit" or "SDU"

 4
        means the entity established in section 6 of the office of child

 5
        support act, 1971 PA 174, MCL 400.236.

             Sec. 6.  The department, the SDU, and each  office of the

 7
        friend of the court  COURT FAMILY SERVICES OFFICE shall cooperate

 8
        in the transition to the centralized receipt and disbursement of

 9
        support and fees.   An office of the friend of the court  A COURT

10
        FAMILY SERVICES OFFICE shall continue to receive and disburse

11
        support and fees through the transition, based on the schedule

12
        developed as required by section  6  7 of the office of child

13
        support act, 1971 PA 174, MCL  400.236  400.237, and modifica-

14
        tions to that schedule as the department considers necessary.

             Enacting section 1.  This amendatory act does not take

16
        effect unless Senate Bill No. _____ or House Bill No. 6011

17
        (request no. 04605'01 *) of the 91st Legislature is enacted into

18
        law.
