A bill to amend 1909 PA 139, entitled
"An act relative to the maintenance and construction of hospitals
and sanatoria within the counties of this state and to provide a
tax to raise moneys therefor,"
by amending section 5 (MCL 331.105).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 5. Any
A sanatorium , established
under the provi-
2 sions of this act solely for the
treatment of
tuberculosis and
3 which shall have
THAT HAS expended at least
10,000 dollars
4 $10,000.00 in buildings and equipment, may, upon application to
5 the state board of
DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY
health, be placed
6 upon the approved list of county
sanatoriums. ,
and once ONCE A
7 SANATORIUM IS entered upon
said THE approved
list, THE
8 SANATORIUM may remain listed and be entitled to state aid so long
9 as the scope and character of its
work are
maintained in such A
10 manner as to meet
THAT MEETS the approval of the
state board

DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY health. On the first
day of July of
2 each year the secretary of the board
of said THE
sanatorium on
3 the approved list, shall report under
oath to the
state board
4 of
DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY health, the character
of the work
5 done and the treatment given, the number and names of the persons
6 employed and patients treated and on
said THAT
date remaining
7 in such
THE sanatorium, the amount contributed by
said THE
8 county or counties for the support of
such THE
sanatorium, and
9 such other matters as may be
required by the state
board of
10 DEPARTMENT OF
COMMUNITY health. Upon the receipt
of such THE
11 report, if it shall appear
APPEARS that the
sanatorium has been
12 maintained in a satisfactory manner,
the secretary
of the state
13 board of
DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY
health shall
14 make a certificate to that effect, together with the cost of
15 maintenance for the year and the amount actually contributed by
16 each county, therefor,
and file it with the
auditor general
17 STATE TREASURER. Upon
receiving such THE
certificate the
18 auditor general
STATE TREASURER shall draw his OR
HER warrant
19 payable to the treasurer of each county contributing toward the
20 maintenance of such
THE sanatorium, for a sum
equal to 1/2 the
21 amount actually contributed by
said THAT county
for the support
22 of such
THE sanatorium for the preceding year. :
Provided,
23 That
HOWEVER, the total sum so paid as state aid
shall not
24 exceed the sum of 3,000
dollars $3,000.00 for any
1 sanatorium
25 in any 1 year. The
auditor general shall
annually, beginning in
26 the year 1918, include
and apportion in the state
tax such sums
27 as shall have been so
paid.
