A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled
"Public health code,"
by amending section 9201 (MCL 333.9201), as amended by 1996 PA
540.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 9201. (1) As used in this part:
2 (a) "Camping" means attendance at a residential, day, troop,
3 or travel camp conducted for more than 4 school-age children,
4 apart from their parents, guardians, or persons in loco parentis
5 for 5 or more days or parts of days in a 14-day period.
6 (b) "Immunizing agent" means a vaccine, antibody prepara-
7 tion, or other substance used to increase an individual's immu-
8 nity to a disease or infectious agent. IMMUNIZING AGENT DOES NOT
9 INCLUDE A VACCINE, ANTIBODY PREPARATION, OR OTHER SUBSTANCE USED
10 TO INCREASE AN INDIVIDUAL'S IMMUNITY TO A DISEASE OR INFECTIOUS

1 AGENT IF THE VACCINE, ANTIBODY PREPARATION, OR OTHER SUBSTANCE
2 CONTAINS THIMEROSAL.
3 (c) "Infectious agent" means that term as defined in
4 R 325.9031 of the Michigan administrative code.
5 (2) In addition, article 1 contains general definitions and
6 principles of construction applicable to all articles in this
7 code.
