A joint resolution proposing an amendment to the state con- stitution of 1963, by amending section 1 of article II, to pro- vide that citizens who become 18 years old on or before the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November may vote in any elec- tion during that calendar year. Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the state of Michigan, That the following amendment to the state con- stitution of 1963, to provide that citizens who become 18 years old on or before the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November may vote in any election during that calendar year, is proposed, agreed to, and submitted to the people of the state: 1 ARTICLE II 2 Sec. 1. Every citizen of the United States who has attained 3 OR WILL ATTAIN the age of2118 years ON OR BEFORE THE FIRST 4 TUESDAY AFTER THE FIRST MONDAY IN NOVEMBER, who has resided in 06603'02 TDR 2 1 this state six months, and who meets the requirements of local 2 residence provided by law, shall be an elector and qualified to 3 vote in any election DURING THE CALENDAR YEAR IN WHICH THE CITI- 4 ZEN HAS ATTAINED OR WILL ATTAIN THE AGE OF 18 YEARS AND IN ALL 5 SUCCEEDING CALENDAR YEARS, except as otherwise provided in this 6 constitution.
