A bill to amend 1998 PA 386, entitled
"Estates and protected individuals code,"
(MCL 700.1101 to 700.8102) by adding section 3619.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 3619. Upon petition to the court by an interested
2 person, the court may appoint a personal representative to
3 supervise the disposition of the body of a decedent who had
4 insufficient assets to pay for a funeral or burial and who died
5 intestate and without heirs. <<

7 representative may include, but are not limited to, making
8 arrangements with a funeral home and determining the disposition
9 of the body by burial or cremation.
