A bill to prohibit state agencies from requesting
individuals' social security numbers.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 1. As used in this act, "state agency" means a
2 department, board, commission, office, agency, authority, or
3 other unit of state government, or an individual or entity
4 contracting with the state or a state department to provide
5 services.
6 Sec. 2. Except as otherwise provided by law or for reason
7 of employment, a state agency shall not collect individuals'
8 social security numbers.
