A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled
"Public health code,"
(MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 17757b.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 17757b. (1) A pharmacist engaged in the business of
2 selling drugs at retail shall conspicuously display at each
3 counter over which prescription drugs are dispensed a list of the
4 top 50 most commonly prescribed drugs. The list shall include
5 the current selling price or a comparative selling price for each
6 drug included on that list.
7 (2) The list required to be displayed under subsection (1)
8 shall include a provision informing the consumer of his or her
9 right to request price information on any other drug that is not
10 included on the list and include the address and telphone number
11 of the board and the department. The text of the list shall be
1 in at least 32-point bold type and shall be printed on paper at
2 least 11 inches by 17 inches in size.
3 (3) The department shall develop and annually update the list
4 required under subsection (1) and provide copies of the list to
5 each licensee. A person may duplicate or reproduce the list if
6 the duplication or reproduction is a true copy of the list as
7 produced by the department. The department shall make this list
8 available to any person upon request and on the department's
9 website.
