A bill to amend 1931 PA 328, entitled
"The Michigan penal code,"
by amending section 539d (MCL 750.539d).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 539d. Any person who installs in any private place,
2 without the consent of the person or persons entitled to privacy
3 there, any device for observing, photographing, videotaping or
4 otherwise recording, or eavesdropping upon the sounds or events
5 in such the
private place, or uses any such an unauthorized
6 installation of 1 or more of those devices, is guilty of a felony
7 punishable by
imprisonment in a state prison for not more than
8 2 years 1 year or by a fine of not more than $2,000.00
9 $500.00, or both.
