A bill to amend 1984 PA 431, entitled
"The management and budget act,"
by amending section 273 (MCL 18.1273), as amended by 1988 PA
412.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 273. (1) The department shall issue directives for the
2 printing of publications by any state agency. A publication that
3 is authorized by law shall not be printed unless the request for
4 the printing is approved by the department.
5 (2) Except as provided in subsection (3), the department
6 shall provide for the determination of the precise number and
7 distribution of all state reports and publications, shall
8 prescribe the style, form, binding, typography, and quality of
9 paper, and shall provide for the central storage of reports and
10 publications in a manner provided by law. In addition, the
1 department shall require that the publications of any state
2 agency shall be printed on recycled paper, to the extent
3 available, to comply with the 3-year phase-in requirements
4 provided for in section 261b.
5 (3) With respect to
the Michigan manual, the
Public and
6 Local Acts, the Michigan administrative code, and the Michigan
7 register, the department shall provide for their distribution and
8 central storage only.
9 Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take
10 effect unless Senate Bill No. _____ or House Bill No. _____
11 (request no. 04822'03) of the 92nd Legislature is enacted into
12 law.
