The roll was called by the Clerk of the House of Representatives, who announced that a quorum was not present.
Rep. Neal Nitz, from the 78th District, offered the following invocation:
"Creator God, we give You thanks for our Water Wonderland, for its beauty, its resources, and its diverse peoples. We entreat You to continue to help us to faithfully represent Your people. May the true needs of Michigan and the common-good for all, ever be our direction and our purpose. There are many challenges before us and the solutions rarely come easy, therefore, we seek Your divine assistance in representing the many and varied needs of this great state of Michigan. Grace us with Your presence, Your wisdom, and Your vision; Help us to be mindful always of the needs for careful use of the abundant resources that You have gifted to this state and our nation. Lead us and keep us as we continue doing the important work of representing the people of this great state who sent us. Amen."
