A SUMMARY OF SENATE BILL 778 AS PASSED BY THE SENATE 11-3-05
Part 25 (Environmental Education) of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act requires the Department of Environmental Quality, in conjunction with the Department of Natural Resources, to issue a biennial environmental indicator report assessing the overall state of the natural environment in Michigan. The section of law that requires the report is due to be repealed effective December 31, 2005. Senate Bill 778 would eliminate the repealer, leaving the report requirement in effect indefinitely.
