WAIVE CONTINUING ED FOR INSURANCE AGENT

ON ACTIVE MILITARY DUTY IN COMBAT ZONE

House Bill 4421

Sponsor:  Rep. Fulton Sheen

Committee:  Insurance

Complete to 4-18-05

A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4421 AS INTRODUCED 3-1-05

The bill would amend the Insurance Code to require the commissioner of insurance to establish a policy waiving continuing education requirements for an insurance agent who is on active duty in the United States Armed Forces in an area designated as a combat zone by the President of the United States.

(Currently, the commissioner can waive continuing education requirements for an agent upon a determination that enforcement "would cause a severe hardship.")
