A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5845 AS INTRODUCED 3-8-06
House Bill 5845 would amend Part 201 (Environmental Remediation) of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act to include in the definition of "hazardous substance" certain components and by-products of the manufacture of methamphetamine that are or may become injurious to the public health, safety, or welfare, or the environment. Specifically it would include a chemical or other material that is used to manufacture methamphetamine, toxic gases and other by-products produced during the manufacture of methamphetamine, and the wastes remaining after the manufacture of methamphetamine is completed.
