A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 6310 AS INTRODUCED 7-12-06

The bill would amend the Michigan Memorial Highway Act to designate part of Highway M-81 in Tuscola County as the "Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Highway."  The designation would apply to M-81 from its intersection with Van Geisen Road and continuing southwest to its intersection with Chambers Road.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Section 2 of the Michigan Memorial Highway Act indicates that the state transportation department shall only provide for the erection of suitable markers indicating the name of the highway "when sufficient private contributions are received to completely cover the cost of erecting and maintaining those markers."  As a result, the bill has no state or local fiscal impact.
