Summary

A new Cadillac Transportation Service Center (TSC) for MDOT was authorized under PA 45 of 2001 at a total cost of $1,000,000 to be financed by the State Trunkline Fund.  Subsequently in 2005, increases in the project scope and cost were authorized to allow the Cadillac-Wexford Transit Authority (CWTA) to have space in the facility.  The expansion was to be financed by a combination of state, federal, and local monies.

The CWTA has been unable to secure its share of the project financing and is forced to withdraw from the project.  The MDOT requests that the project scope and cost be reduced to accommodate the construction of a stand-alone TSC at the original cost estimate of $1,000,000.

The Joint Capital Outlay Subcommittee (JCOS) approved this resolution, with recommendation.  The Department of Management and Budget also recommends approval.
