Summary

The Information Technology Center Renovation capital outlay project forSouthwesternMichiganCollege was authorized under PA 297 of 2005.  The total authorized cost was established at $4,500,000 to be financed equally between State Building Authority bonds andSouthwesternMichiganCollege funds.  This multi-component project was to entail the renovations of its M-TECH Facility and theInformationTechnologyCenter.

Due to unanticipated inflationary increases, the college requests a project cost increase of $547,700 and, also to reduce the scope of the project to eliminate the M-TECH renovations.  The college will finance the entire cost increase.

The Joint Capital Outlay Subcommittee (JCOS) approved this resolution, with recommendation.  The Department of Management and Budget also recommends approval.
