CONTENT
The bill would amend Public Act 438 of 2004, which designates Police Officers Memorial Day, to designate May 4 of each year as "Firefighters Memorial Day" in recognition of the men and women who have lost their lives serving as firefighters in the State.


The Act designates May 15 of each year as Police Officers Memorial Day, and requires that all flags at public buildings be lowered to half staff on that day. Under the bill, flags at public buildings also would have to be lowered to half staff on May 4 of each year.
