CONTENT
The bill would amend the handgun licensure Act to provide for a license to carry a concealed pistol to expire after four years on the license holder's birthday.


Under the Act, a license issued before July 1, 2003, is valid for three years and a license issued on or after that date is valid for five years. Under the bill, a license issued on or after July 1, 2003, but before July 1, 2006, would be valid for five years. A license issued on or after July 1, 2006, would be valid until the applicant's date of birth falling not less than four years or more than five years after the license was issued.
