CONTENT
The bill would amend Chapter 16 of the Revised Statutes of 1846, which regulates townships and township officers, to allow a township treasurer to keep records of the townships receipts and expenditures by electronic means.
The statute requires each township treasurer to keep an accurate account of the township's receipts and expenditures in a book meeting the State Treasurer's uniform accounting requirements. Under the bill, township treasurers could keep those accounts in a book or by electronic means.
