CONTENT
The Joint Capital Outlay Subcommittee has approved a total project cost increase of $770,500 (23.1%) for the Instructional Addition/Renovation project at Alpena Community College, to be paid for entirely from college resources.

The project was initially authorized for construction in Public Act 297 of 2005 with a total project cost of $3,335,000 funded half by the college and half by the State. The project has three main components: a new Fine Arts Facility; expansion of the Computer Technology Program space; and the renovation of the Natural Resources Center. Due to inflationary pressures identified during final design, the college is requesting authorization to increase the total project cost. There is no requested change in the State's portion of project financing.

Fund Source Current Authorization Requested Change Revised Authorization
  State $1,667,500 $ 0 $1,677,500
Institution $1,677,500 $770,500 $2,438,000
  Totals $3,335,000 $770,500 $4,105,500
FISCAL IMPACT
There would be no fiscal impact on State government as the college will be financing the entire cost increase from its own revenue.
