A bill to amend 1984 PA 270, entitled
"Michigan strategic fund act,"
by amending section 77 (MCL 125.2077).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec.
77. (1) The
fund shall appoint :
(a)
An advisory committee containing individuals representing
various
geographic areas of this state and having the necessary
academic
or professional credentials or capacity to assist in
determining
the selection of present and emerging technology
pursuant
to section 74 and for the purposes of evaluating
applicants
for financial aid under this chapter.
(b)
A a higher education
coordination council containing
individuals representative of higher education institutions and
having the necessary credentials to provide an inventory and advise
the fund on the available research and development enterprises that
are or will be established by higher education institutions and the
application
of such that technology to business and industry.
(2)
The advisory committee described in subsection (1)(a) also
shall
contain 1 individual nominated by the speaker of the house of
representatives
and 1 individual nominated by the senate majority
leader.
