A bill to amend 1979 PA 94, entitled
"The state school aid act of 1979,"
(MCL 388.1601 to 388.1772) by adding section 164f.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 164f. (1) If a district or intermediate district fails to
comply with subsection (2), the department shall withhold all state
school aid payments under this act until the record described in
this section is made available as required under subsection (2).
(2) A district or intermediate district shall make a record of
information concerning each motor vehicle that it owns or leases
available to the public by transmitting the information to the
department of management and budget for posting on a website that
the department shall establish and maintain for that purpose. The
information in the record shall include all of the following that
apply:
(a) The purchase date or initial lease date and duration of
the lease.
(b) If a motor vehicle is sold, the date of sale.
(c) The year, make, and model of the motor vehicle.
(d) The department or agency and supervisor with charge of the
motor vehicle.
(e) The name of any individual who is authorized to use the
motor vehicle.
(f) The mileage traveled by the motor vehicle during the
immediately preceding school fiscal year or portion of the school
fiscal year during which the motor vehicle was owned or under
lease.
(g) The total mileage on the motor vehicle.
(3) A district or intermediate district shall transmit
information required under this section to the department of
management and budget by November 1 of each year.
(4) As used in this section, "motor vehicle" means a self-
propelled vehicle registered for use on public highways.
