HOUSE BILL No. 6218

 

June 20, 2006, Introduced by Rep. Cushingberry and referred to the Committee on Appropriations.

 

     A bill to make, supplement, and adjust appropriations for the

 

department of labor and economic growth for the fiscal year ending

 

September 30, 2006; to provide for the expenditure of the

 

appropriations; and to prescribe certain conditions for the

 

appropriations.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

PART 1

 

LINE-ITEM APPROPRIATIONS

 

     Sec. 101. There is appropriated for the Michigan strategic

 

fund for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2007, from the

 

following funds:

 

Africa and Middle East trade office.................... $         300,000

 

GROSS APPROPRIATION.................................... $        300,000

 


    Appropriated from:

 

State general fund/general purpose..................... $        300,000

 

 

 

 

 

PART 2

 

PROVISIONS CONCERNING APPROPRIATIONS

 

GENERAL SECTIONS

 

     Sec. 201. Pursuant to section 30 of article IX of the state

 

constitution of 1963, total state spending under part 1 for fiscal

 

year 2006-2007 is $300,000.00. State payments to local units of

 

government under this act are $0.00.

 

     Sec. 202. The appropriations made and the expenditures

 

authorized under this act and the departments, agencies,

 

commissions, boards, offices, and programs for which an

 

appropriation is made under this act are subject to the management

 

and budget act, 1984 PA 431, MCL 18.1101 to 18.1594.

 

 

 

ENTREPRENEURIAL EDUCATION

 

     Sec. 301. (1) The funds appropriated in part 1 for the Africa

 

and Middle East trade office are for the purposes of promoting

 

Michigan businesses in Africa and the Middle East.

 

     (2) It is the intent that the office be located in Qatar or

 

the United Arab Emirates. The office shall be staffed by

 

individuals chosen by the governor.
